We require an itemized budget and justification as part of the financial support application process. The information in this section is provided to help you estimate the cost of attending the workshop.

Transportation: Participants should plan to arrive in time for the start of the workshop, which begins early in the morning on Monday 2 June. The workshop will conclude at the end of the business day on Friday 6 June. For those individuals arriving by plane, the most convenient and recommended way to travel is to fly into Victoria International Airport. The airport is situated between the Institute of Ocean Sciences (IOS) workshop venue, and the town of Sidney. Free daily shuttle services between IOS and Sidney will be provided. Any transportation to/from the airport is the responsibility of the traveler.

Accommodation: Blocks of hotel rooms in Sidney will be reserved for participant bookings, with an approximate cost of $250 CAD per night including taxes. Cost-reduction strategies such as sharing a hotel room are encouraged. It is anticipated that most participants will stay in the town of Sidney, however, the larger city of Victoria is accessible by car. Travel time between IOS and Victoria is approximately 40 minutes.

Registration: A registration fee of ~$200 may be required.
