I am the son of Patrick M Howard II, the man after whom the Howard nuntakas are named. My family has just learned about all this and we are very excited and anxious to learn more about the work that is being done there. We would also be very happy to tell you more about our Dad’s very interesting life. Wishing you all the best, P. M. Howard
Hi Patrick – has anyone from Polenet replied yet? Happy to share our story of Howard Nunatak with you. Forward your email and I can contact direct, send some photos etc – it’s a really great place.
We have only just learned that this nunatak was named for my husband’s father, Patrick Howard, from Ontario, who was part of the Lincoln Ellsworth expedition. We discovered your photos when we did a Google search and were delighted to see these incredible images. Thank you for sharing them with the public! It must be an amazing place to visit – wish we could experience it ourselves, but since that is very unlikely, we are happy to hear about your journey!
